In the last few months, Hong Kong has undergone significant and troubling changes. The new National Security Law (NSL) has already had a huge impact on many aspects of society, and more changes are likely to come. On Wednesday, the Council on Foreign Relations held a virtual meeting moderated by Nancy Yao Maasbach, and I joined Victoria Tin-bor Hui and Christopher Patten to discuss the NSL, the delayed Legislative Council elections, and how history has impacted the current situation.
